Whoa...Garmins are cool. My brother sprang for a new 310XT, and handed his old Forerunner 305 down to me :D These things are freakin awesome...maybe it'll motivate me to get out more. This is my first test ride with it:

Blog #1
Ok, so I decided to start a blog. The problem is, that was about 5 months ago, and look how far I've come... I'm still not sure what I think of the idea, and I have no clue what I might write about. I'm not too concerned though, cause it's not my idea, it's Brooke's. So if things don't work out, at least I have someone else to blame.
I imagine blogging is much more doable when you have a particular subject in mind for it. I guess that's true of writing in general. Remember fretting constantly in school about what
you're going to pick for your paper topic? Those people with exciting lives or babies or narrow interests have it easy, man, their topic is a given. Unfortunately I have none of those things, so this blog is probably going to be totally random and inconsistent. I'll try to come up with things to put on here, but I'm not making any promises.
I really don't have much interesting stuff going on right now, which is another reason why this blog is probably doomed. Sometimes I avoid even hanging out and talking with people I haven't seen for a while, because that way I won't have to confront the inevitable "So what have you been up to?" question. That's a hard one when you haven't been up to anything, or don't feel that great about what you have been up to. Ironically, that problem is also a great reason to start a blog. I figure if I just let it be known right here that I don't have a job yet, I'm not up to anything at all, and my life is boring right now, then when I see people in real life we can skip that question and just start playing Carcassonne or something.
That being said, besides not being up to anything, I have been up to a few things in my [plentiful] free time. I'll let you know about those later.
